ACH Transaction Rejected Phishing E-mail - 2/14/12
If you receive an e-mail with the subject line, 'ACH Payment Rejected' DO NOT CLICK on any of the links; it is a phishing scam. Delete the message.
The fraudulent e-mail may appear to come from firstname.lastname@example.org.
NACHA itself does not process nor touch the ACH transactions that flow to and from organizations and financial institutions. NACHA does not send communications to individuals or organizations about individual ACH transactions that they originate or receive.
Be alert for different variations of fraudulent e-mails. For example, the subject line may read "ACH transaction canceled" rather than "rejected."
